Traveling is a popular half-time for most people but with the rising costs of everything, including air fair, finding places that are within a reasonable drive to visit is now on the top of the list of things to do. This blog is here to provide several places that are all under an 8 hour drive from Atlanta that make the perfect road-trip destination.

Atlanta offers lots of things to do within the city and in the Metro-Atlanta area, but if you venture to the out skirts of Georgia, you can find many little slices of paradise. First on our list, a quick 4 hours from Atlanta, and sitting on the river that got it it’s name, Savannah, GA. This town is full of historic sites and things to do. It’s also a must to check out the restaurants on River Street for a quick bite for lunch or a relaxing dinner after a long day of exploring this beautiful waterfront town. Love the town but still want to escape for an afternoon to a beach? Not to worry, the very popular Tybee Island, offers Atlantic beaches and its less than half an hour away.

South of Savannah, still located on Georgia’s coast is Jekyll Island. A 5-hour drive brings you to this quant island located on the Atlantic Ocean. Jekyll Island is often overlooked when people plan vacations but its offers a serene place to relax and get back to nature. Take some

Starting off strong with our southern neighbor, Florida, St. Augustine, Fl, is only a swift 6 hours from Atlanta, making it a super accessible beach trip. St. Augustine is known for its unique Spanish architecture, found on many buildings, and its many historic sites. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, there are several beaches in St. Augustine, Fl worth visiting. Crescent beach, Butler beach, St. Augustine beach, and Vilano beach are just a few of the beaches St. Augustine holds tucked away in the northern Florida.

Jumping over to the other side of northern Florida, we look at Pensacola Beach, FL. Located on the panhandle, Pensacola sits on the lovely Gulf of Mexico. If you can believe it, views of clear blue water are only a 5-hour drive from Atlanta. Beautiful beaches and tons of restaurants and bars to choose from, makes Pensacola a great place to host a bachelorette trip at the beach.

Next on the list is Chattanooga, Tennessee. A brief, 2-hour drive from Atlanta, Chattanooga is a modern, river-front town that brings lots of attractions. One of the most notable attractions is the Tennessee Aquarium, with exhibits ranging from lemurs, butterflies, sharks and dolphins, to name a few.

A very popular bachelorette party spot, Nashville, Tennessee is another easy to-get-to destination for your next trip. Located just 4 hours from Atlanta, it makes for a great girl’s trip or bachelorette trip looking to get away and have fun. Downtown is filled with tons of good eats and bars and is decorated in country music culture.

Jumping up to North Carolina, a real-life castle is closer than you think. Located in Asheville the Biltmore Hotel is a widely known attraction in the Southeast, only 4 hours from Atlanta. The fairytale-like building offers the perfect weekend get-away for couples. It also offers a show of red, oranges and yellows in the fall from the trees turning.

Last but certainly not least, Wilmington is the farthest from Atlanta on this list, at a brisk 7 hours. Wilmington offers loads to do for those looking to visit a lowkey, yet touristy beach town. Visiting Wilmington, you can expect to find shopping, good eats, and lots of Instagram worthy coffee shops.
